Crunch (Machine)

Also called Crunch (Gym Machine), Ab Crunch Machine, Ab Crunch (Machine)

How to do it

Sit on the ab machine with your feet under the pads and hands on the top handles. Crunch your ribs down toward your hips against the resistance, then return slowly under control.

Setup

Adjust the seat, foot pads, and upper-body pad or handles so the machine pivot matches your trunk-flexion path. Secure the feet, keep hips against the seat, and begin tall without overextending.

Where you should feel it

Across the front abdominal wall as the ribs move toward the hips, with the obliques assisting. Avoid pulling only with the arms or folding primarily at the hips.

When to use it

Use for progressively loaded abdominal hypertrophy and controlled trunk flexion with stable setup. Sets of 10-20 reps fit well.
