Good Morning (Barbell)
Also called Barbell Good Morning, BB Good Morning
How to do it
Stand with a barbell secured across your upper back, feet about hip-width apart, and knees softly bent. Brace your trunk and push your hips backward to hinge until your hamstrings limit the range while keeping your spine neutral, then drive your hips forward to stand. Control the descent and do not force your torso to parallel.
Setup
Bar racked across the upper back as for a squat, feet hip width, knees soft. Hinge forward with the back flat, not down.
Where you should feel it
Hard through the hamstrings and glutes, with the lower back working isometrically to hold position.
When to use it
A hinge accessory that strengthens the exact position where deadlifts and squats break down. Go light and controlled — 8-12 reps.
