Crunch (Resistance Band)

Also called Ab Crunch (Resistance Band)

How to do it

Anchor a resistance band behind you and loop it around your upper back, holding an end in each hand at your shoulders. Curl your torso forward, crunching your ribs toward your hips, then return under control.

Setup

Anchor the band securely behind your head position and lie with knees bent and feet flat. Loop the band across the upper back, hold one end at each shoulder with equal tension, and keep the hips still.

Where you should feel it

Across the front abdominal wall as the ribs curl toward the hips, with the obliques assisting and band tension increasing through the crunch. Avoid turning it into a hip hinge.

When to use it

Use for portable loaded trunk flexion, warm-ups, or higher-repetition abdominal volume. Keep anchor and body position consistent for sets of 12-25 reps.
