Seated Crunch (Resistance Band)

How to do it

Anchor a resistance band securely behind and above a stable seat, then hold the ends beside your head or across your shoulders. Keep both feet and hips planted as you curl the ribs toward the pelvis, squeeze the abdominals, then return slowly to an upright stretch without losing tension.

Setup

Anchor the band securely behind and above the seat and sit far enough forward to create tension while upright. Plant both feet, hold the ends beside the head or shoulders, keep the hips fixed, and begin tall.

Where you should feel it

Across the abdominals with band tension increasing as the torso curls forward, while the glutes fix the hips and the forearms secure the band. Control the lighter return range.

When to use it

Use for portable seated abdominal activation and higher-repetition trunk-flexion work. Smooth sets of 12-25 reps suit the rising band resistance.
