Standing Leg Curl (Cable)

Also called Leg Curl (Cable)

How to do it

Attach an ankle cuff to the low cable and stand facing the stack while holding the frame. Keep the thighs aligned and pelvis level as you curl the cuffed heel toward the glute, squeeze the hamstring, then lower slowly to a straight knee. Complete the set and repeat on the other side.

Setup

Secure the cuff above one ankle and stand far enough from the low pulley for tension with the working leg straight. Hold the frame, brace the planted foot, keep both knees aligned, torso tall, hips square, and working thigh still.

Where you should feel it

Along the hamstrings of the working leg with some calf assistance, while the core, glutes, and outer hips keep the pelvis level over the planted leg. Avoid swinging the thigh forward.

When to use it

Use for unilateral hamstring strength, side-to-side assessment, and continuous-tension accessory work with little setup. Perform 10-20 controlled reps per side.
