Step-Up (Resistance Band)
Also called Band Step-Up, Resistance Band Step-Up
How to do it
Loop a resistance band under the lead foot and hold the ends securely at shoulder height, then place that whole foot on a stable box. Drive through the elevated foot to stand fully on top as band tension rises, then step down slowly with the same leg leading. Complete the set and repeat with the other leg.
Setup
Stand on the middle of the band with the lead foot and hold both ends evenly at the shoulders before placing the whole foot on a stable box. Keep the band secure, hips square, torso braced, and lead knee aligned.
Where you should feel it
Primarily through the lead-leg quad and glute with band tension increasing during the ascent, while the hamstrings and calf assist and the core and hip stabilizers keep the pelvis level.
When to use it
Use for portable unilateral leg activation and higher-repetition step work. Perform 12-20 smooth reps per side on a stable platform.
