Overhead Carry (Kettlebell)

Also called Kettlebell Overhead Carry, KB Overhead Carry

How to do it

Press or place one kettlebell securely overhead with your elbow straight, wrist stacked, and shoulder active. Walk the prescribed distance with short controlled steps while keeping your ribs down and resisting any sideways lean, then lower the bell safely. Complete the carry and repeat on the other side.

Setup

Clean or press one kettlebell overhead so it rests securely behind the forearm with your wrist neutral, elbow straight, and shoulder active. Stand tall with your ribs down, pelvis level, and free arm relaxed.

Where you should feel it

In the overhead shoulder and upper back holding the bell stable, with the obliques and hips resisting sideways lean and the whole body supporting the walk. Wrist collapse or rib flare means the load is too high or the bell is not stacked.

When to use it

Use for unilateral overhead stability, trunk control, and loaded walking with the kettlebell’s offset center of mass. Program equal time or distance per side with a load you can keep vertically stacked.
