Decline Fly (Machine)

Also called Decline Chest Fly (Machine), Decline Pec Deck

How to do it

Seated at a decline-angled fly machine, grip the handles with a slight bend in your elbows. Bring the handles together in a fly motion, squeeze your chest, then return slowly to the stretch.

Setup

Adjust the decline seat, chest angle, and start position so the handles align with the lower-to-mid chest and shoulders match the pivots. Keep the back supported and elbows softly bent.

Where you should feel it

Across the lower and mid chest along the supported fly path, with the front shoulders assisting. Correct the seat or shorten the return if the shoulders feel pinched.

When to use it

Use for stable decline-angle chest volume close to fatigue when free-weight balance should not limit the set. Controlled sets of 10-20 reps fit well.
