Bench Press (Cable)

Also called Chest Press (Cable)

How to do it

Lie on a bench between two low cable pulleys and grip a handle in each hand at chest level. Press both handles up and together to full extension, then lower with control back to a chest stretch.

Setup

Center a flat bench between two low pulleys, set the handles just outside chest width, and lie back with your feet planted and shoulder blades drawn down and together. Hold one handle in each hand with wrists stacked over elbows.

Where you should feel it

Across the chest through the press and controlled stretch, with the triceps finishing near lockout. If the front shoulders dominate, shorten the bottom range and keep the shoulder blades pinned.

When to use it

Use for chest-focused volume with continuous tension and a freely adjustable arm path. It works well after a heavier press or as the main press when you want moderate loads in the 8-15 rep range.
