Decline Bench Press (Machine)
Also called Decline Bench Press (Gym Machine), Leverage Decline Chest Press (Gym Machine), Leverage Decline Chest Press
How to do it
Set the seat so the handles sit near the bottom of the pecs and select your weight. Press the handles away to a full lockout, then return under control until the chest is stretched and the handles are back at the starting height.
Setup
Adjust the seat or back support so the handles align with your lower chest, secure your torso and legs, and keep your shoulder blades against the pad. Choose a grip that keeps wrists stacked and elbows below shoulder height.
Where you should feel it
Across the lower-to-mid chest through the fixed press path, with the triceps assisting near lockout. If the shoulders dominate, adjust the seat so the handles do not begin too high or too far behind you.
When to use it
Use for stable decline-pattern chest volume when balance is not the goal, especially for controlled sets near fatigue. The fixed path simplifies progression and setup compared with free weights on a decline bench.
