Incline Bench Press (Cable)

Also called Incline Cable Chest Press

How to do it

Set the bench to 30–45° — past ~45° the front delts start taking over from the upper chest. Sit between two low pulleys, grasping a handle in each hand with the upper arms at about 45 degrees to the body. Press the handles up and slightly together to lockout, then lower under control until the chest stretches.

Setup

Set the bench to about 30-45 degrees between two low pulleys, lie back with your feet planted and shoulder blades pinned, and hold one handle in each hand just outside the upper chest. Keep wrists stacked over elbows.

Where you should feel it

Across the upper chest through the press and controlled stretch, with the front delts and triceps assisting. If the front shoulders dominate, reduce the incline and keep the handles tracking above the upper chest rather than your face.

When to use it

Use for upper-chest volume with continuous tension and an adjustable arm path. It fits well after a heavier press or as a moderate-load main movement in the 8-15 rep range.
