Incline Bench Press (Machine)

Also called Incline Bench Press (Gym Machine), Smith Machine Incline Bench Press, Leverage Incline Chest Press, Leverage Incline Chest Press (Gym Machine)

How to do it

Set the seat so the handles sit at upper-chest height — the incline is built into the frame, so there is no bench angle to set. Grip the handles and press away to a full lockout, then return under control until the chest is stretched.

Setup

Adjust the seat so the handles align with your upper chest, plant both feet, and keep your back and shoulder blades supported by the pad. Choose a grip that keeps your wrists stacked and elbows slightly below shoulder height.

Where you should feel it

Across the upper chest through the fixed press path, with the front delts and triceps assisting. If the shoulders dominate, lower the seat or choose a less steep machine angle when available.

When to use it

Use for stable upper-chest volume when balance is not the goal, especially for controlled sets near fatigue. The fixed path makes progression simple in the 8-15 rep range.
