Incline Squeeze Press (Dumbbell)
Also called Incline Svend Press, Svend Press, Crush Grip Press, Incline Crush Grip Press, Plate Squeeze Press
How to do it
Set the bench to 30–45° — past ~45° the front delts start taking over from the upper chest. Lie back holding two dumbbells pressed hard together over the chest, palms facing each other. Keeping them crushed together the whole time, press up and slightly back until the arms lock out, then lower under control to the upper chest. The squeeze is the exercise — if the bells drift apart, the tension is gone.
Setup
Bench at 30-45 degrees, shoulder blades pinned, feet flat. Bells held palm-to-palm and mashed together at the upper chest, wrists straight and elbows tucked in close to the ribs rather than flared.
Where you should feel it
A hard, constant burn through the inner and upper chest from the squeeze itself, before the press even starts. If you feel it mainly in the triceps, you are pushing up instead of pressing the bells together.
When to use it
Chest work with almost no shoulder-joint stress, since the load stays close and the adduction does the work. Use it as a finisher or on days when heavy pressing bothers a shoulder — go light and high-rep, 12-20, and hold the squeeze throughout.
