Chest Dip (Dip Bars)
Also called Dip, Chest Dip, Parallel Bar Dip, Parallel Bars Dip
How to do it
On parallel bars, lean your torso forward about 30 degrees and let your elbows flare out slightly. Lower under control until you feel a deep stretch across the chest (upper arms below parallel), then press back up. The forward lean and flared elbows shift the emphasis onto the pecs.
Setup
Grip the parallel/dip bars with a neutral grip, arms locked out supporting your bodyweight. Set up with a slight forward torso lean and shoulders pulled down. Add load with a dip belt or weighted vest as you get stronger.
Where you should feel it
A deep stretch and hard contraction across the lower chest; the front delts and triceps assist.
When to use it
Build chest size and pressing strength as a bodyweight or weighted compound push. Progress by adding load once you can do 10+ clean reps.
