Shrug (Resistance Band)

Also called Leverage Shrug (Resistance Band)

How to do it

Stand on the middle of a resistance band and hold an end in each hand at your sides with arms long. Shrug both shoulders straight toward your ears without bending your elbows, pause, then lower slowly without rolling them.

Setup

Stand evenly on the middle of the band and hold one end in each hand at your sides. Match the band length, keep your arms straight and wrists neutral, and begin with light tension.

Where you should feel it

Across the upper traps with resistance increasing toward the top, while the core keeps you upright. Avoid leaning, bending the elbows, or snapping into the bottom.

When to use it

Use for portable trap volume, warm-ups, or higher-repetition finishers. The rising resistance works best for smooth sets of 12-25 reps.
