Finger Curl (Barbell)

Also called Finger Curls (Barbell), Finger Curls, BB Finger Curl

How to do it

Sit with both forearms supported on the thighs or a bench, palms up, and hold a light barbell around shoulder width. Open the fingers slowly so the bar rolls toward the fingertips without leaving the hands, close the fingers to pull it back into the palms, squeeze the grip, then repeat under control without bending the wrists.

Setup

Use a light bar with collars and sit over a clear surface so it cannot roll away. Support both forearms fully, let the hands extend just past the support, hold palms up around shoulder width, and keep wrists neutral.

Where you should feel it

Along the finger flexors on the palm side of both forearms as the bar rolls out and is drawn back into the hands. The wrists and elbows should remain still.

When to use it

Use for bilateral finger-flexor endurance and grip finishing after larger pulling work. Perform 12-30 slow repetitions with a light load that never threatens to leave the fingertips.
