Straight Arm Pulldown (Resistance Band)
How to do it
Anchor the resistance band securely overhead and hold one end in each hand with arms raised and a slight fixed elbow bend. Pull both hands down in an arc toward your thighs by driving through the shoulders, squeeze the lats, then return slowly overhead without losing tension. Keep the torso still and elbow angle unchanged.
Setup
Anchor the band securely overhead and stand far enough back to create tension with the arms raised. Hold the ends evenly with neutral wrists, elbows softly bent and fixed, shoulders down, knees soft, and torso braced.
Where you should feel it
Along both lats with band tension increasing as the hands approach the thighs, plus some long-head triceps assistance. The forearms and core stabilize while the elbows stay fixed.
When to use it
Use for portable lat activation, warm-ups, and higher-repetition shoulder-extension work. Smooth sets of 12-25 reps suit the rising band resistance.
