Underhand Pulldown (Machine)

Also called Underhand Pulldowns (Machine), Reverse-Grip Lat Pulldown (Machine)

How to do it

Secure your thighs in the machine and hold its pulldown bar about shoulder width with both palms facing you. Pull the bar toward the upper chest by driving the elbows down beside the ribs, pause, then let the arms extend overhead slowly without shrugging or leaning excessively.

Setup

Adjust the thigh pad and seat so the bar is reachable with arms extended. Hold it shoulder width with palms toward you, wrists straight, shoulders down, chest tall, and thighs secured.

Where you should feel it

Down both lats and strongly through the biceps along the guided path, with the rear delts assisting. The forearms secure the underhand grip and the core limits torso movement.

When to use it

Use for stable supinated-grip back and biceps volume close to fatigue with simple load progression. Controlled sets of 8-15 reps fit well.
