Split Squat (Dumbbell)
Also called Dumbbell Split Squat, DB Split Squat
How to do it
Stand in a staggered stance holding a dumbbell in each hand with most of your weight through the front foot. Lower straight down by bending both knees, then drive through the front foot to return to the start. Keep your torso controlled and front knee aligned, complete the set, and repeat on the other side.
Setup
A bell in each hand at the sides, one foot forward and one back in a long stance, torso upright.
Where you should feel it
The front leg's quad and glute, with the load easy to bail if balance goes.
When to use it
The safest way to load single-leg strength. 8-12 reps per side; a staple for evening out left-right differences.
