Squat (Bodyweight)

Also called Bodyweight Squat, Bodyweight Squat (Bodyweight)

How to do it

Stand with your feet about shoulder-width apart and brace your trunk. Sit your hips down between your knees while keeping your feet planted and knees tracking over your toes, then drive through your whole feet to stand tall. Control the descent and keep your chest from collapsing forward.

Setup

Feet shoulder width, toes slightly out, arms forward as a counterweight. Sit between the hips rather than straight down.

Where you should feel it

Quads and glutes, with the depth limited by your hips and ankles rather than by load.

When to use it

The pattern builder and warm-up staple. Use for volume, movement practice, and as the squat when no kit is available.
