Decline Triceps Extension (Cable)

Also called Cable Decline Triceps Extension

How to do it

Set a bench around 15-20 degrees decline in front of a low pulley behind the head end and secure your legs. Lie back holding the attachment above your shoulders with elbows fixed. Bend the elbows to lower the attachment behind or near your head, then extend to lockout and return slowly under cable tension.

Setup

Align the decline bench with a low pulley behind the head end and use a rope or angled bar. Secure the legs, hold the attachment evenly with straight wrists, and keep the upper arms fixed.

Where you should feel it

Through both triceps during the extension and continuous return, with the front shoulders stabilizing the upper arms. Keep the cable clear of the bench and head.

When to use it

Use for decline-angle triceps hypertrophy with continuous tension and easy load changes. Controlled sets of 8-15 reps work well.
