Reverse Grip Triceps Pushdown (Cable)

Also called Reverse Grip Triceps Pushdown

How to do it

Attach a straight or angled bar to a high pulley and hold it with an underhand grip, elbows tucked beside your torso. Extend both elbows to press the bar toward your thighs, squeeze the triceps, then return under control until your forearms rise. Keep your wrists neutral and upper arms still.

Setup

Attach a straight or angled bar to a high pulley and stand facing the stack. Hold the bar evenly with both palms up, wrists straight, elbows pinned beside the ribs, shoulders down, feet stable, and torso tall.

Where you should feel it

Through both triceps as the elbows straighten, with the forearms maintaining the underhand grip and the core preventing torso sway. Avoid bending the wrists or letting the upper arms move.

When to use it

Use for bilateral triceps hypertrophy with an underhand grip and continuous cable tension. Choose a controllable load for sets of 10-20 reps because grip commonly limits the variation.
