Preacher Curl (Barbell)
Also called Preacher Curl, BB Preacher Curl, Two-Arm Preacher Curl (Barbell)
How to do it
Rest both upper arms fully on a preacher pad and grip an EZ-bar or straight bar with palms up. Curl the bar toward your shoulders without lifting the upper arms from the pad, squeeze the biceps, then lower slowly until the elbows are nearly straight without forcefully locking them.
Setup
Adjust the seat so both upper arms lie flat on the pad and the armpits meet its top edge. Hold an EZ-bar or straight bar evenly with palms up, wrists straight, and elbows aligned.
Where you should feel it
In both biceps through the curl and controlled lengthening, with the forearms supporting the grip. Elbow strain means the bottom range is too aggressive or the wrists are bending.
When to use it
Use for strict bilateral biceps strength or hypertrophy with easy bar loading. Keep the load controlled for sets of 8-15 reps and avoid forceful elbow lockout.
