Deadlift (Cable)
Also called Deadlifts (Cable), Cable Deadlifts
How to do it
Set two cable handles at the lowest position and stand centered between them with the handles beside your legs. Push your hips back with a neutral spine and soft knees, then drive through your feet and extend your hips to stand tall. Return the handles by hinging under control without rounding your back.
Setup
Set two low cable handles evenly and stand centered between them with your feet about hip width. Hold one handle beside each leg, brace your abdomen, set your lats, and begin with your hips hinged and spine neutral.
Where you should feel it
Through the hamstrings and glutes as the hips extend, with the lats, abdomen, and back bracing the handle path. Sharp or increasing lower-back strain means you are rounding, overextending, or losing the hinge.
When to use it
Use for conventional deadlift practice with continuous tension and independent handles at moderate loads. It works well for controlled posterior-chain volume when a barbell setup is unavailable or unnecessary.
