Lateral Raise (Cable)

Also called Cable Lateral Raise

How to do it

Stand beside a low pulley and hold the handle with the outside hand, arm resting across or beside your body. Raise that arm out to the side to about shoulder height with a slight elbow bend, then lower under control without shrugging or leaning. Complete the set and repeat on the other side.

Setup

Set one handle on a low pulley and stand side-on with the working arm farthest from the stack. Hold the handle with a neutral wrist, soft elbow, square hips, and enough distance for bottom tension.

Where you should feel it

Across the outside of the working shoulder as the arm rises, with the core resisting lean. Neck tension means you are shrugging or lifting beyond a comfortable height.

When to use it

Use for unilateral mid-delt hypertrophy with continuous tension and independent side-to-side progression. Controlled sets of 10-20 reps work well.
