Chin-Up (Pull-Up Bar)
Also called Chin-Up
How to do it
Hang from the bar with an underhand shoulder-width grip, arms straight, and shoulders set. Pull your chest toward the bar by driving your elbows down until your chin clears it, then lower under control to a full hang. Keep your trunk braced and avoid kicking or swinging.
Setup
Underhand grip about shoulder width, active hang with the shoulders pulled down. Ribs down, no swing.
Where you should feel it
Lats and biceps together — noticeably more bicep than a pull-up.
When to use it
The easier of the two vertical pulls, and the better choice when you want the biceps in the pattern. Good entry point before pull-ups.
