Push Press (Dumbbell)
Also called DB Push Press
How to do it
Hold one dumbbell at each shoulder with feet around hip width and torso braced. Dip a few inches by bending the knees and hips vertically, drive forcefully through the floor, and press both bells overhead to straight arms. Lower them under control to the shoulders, reset the brace, and repeat without turning the dip into a squat.
Setup
Clean or position one dumbbell at each shoulder with neutral or slightly turned palms, wrists stacked over elbows, feet around hip width, knees tracking over toes, and torso tall and braced.
Where you should feel it
Through the quads and glutes during the dip and drive, then the front delts and triceps as both bells finish overhead. The calves transfer force while the core and forearms stabilize the independent loads.
When to use it
Use for explosive bilateral pressing with independent arm loading and a flexible overhead path. Program controlled sets of 3-8 reps before coordination degrades.
