Single-Leg Deadlift (Kettlebell)

Also called Kettlebell Single-Leg DL, KB Single-Leg Deadlift

How to do it

Hold a kettlebell in one hand and balance on one leg with a soft knee. Hinge at the hip as the free leg extends behind you and lower the bell toward the floor without rotating your pelvis, then drive through the planted foot to stand tall. Complete the reps on one side before switching.

Setup

Hold one kettlebell opposite or on the same side as the planted leg and keep that choice consistent. Soften the working knee, square the hips, brace the foot, and let the bell hang close.

Where you should feel it

Through the hamstrings and glutes of the planted leg, with the core, hips, ankle, lower back, and lats resisting rotation and maintaining balance.

When to use it

Use for unilateral posterior-chain strength and balance with a compact load. Keep the bell side consistent for comparison and perform 8-15 reps per leg.
