Stiff-Legged Deadlift (Cable)
How to do it
Stand holding a low cable handle with straight arms, hinge at the hips while pushing your hips back and lowering the handle toward your shins. Feel a hamstring stretch, then drive hips forward to stand tall.
Setup
Attach a straight bar or two handles to a low pulley and stand far enough back for tension at the hips. Keep feet hip width, knees nearly straight but unlocked, arms long, and torso braced.
Where you should feel it
Primarily through the hamstrings as the hips travel back, with the glutes and lower back assisting and the core resisting the cable pull. Do not chase depth by rounding.
When to use it
Use for hamstring-focused hinge volume with continuous tension and moderate loading. Controlled sets of 8-15 reps work well.
