Calf Press (Cable)

How to do it

Sit facing a low cable with your torso supported, legs extended and knees softly unlocked, using a purpose-built footplate or secure dual-foot attachment. Press through the balls of both feet to extend the ankles, pause, then let the heels return slowly into a controlled calf stretch.

Setup

Align a low cable with a stable seated position and use a purpose-built footplate or secure dual-foot attachment. Keep both legs nearly straight, knees softly unlocked, feet parallel, and torso braced.

Where you should feel it

Through both calves during the press and continuous return, with the quads holding knee position and the core stabilizing the torso. Avoid bending the knees to move the load.

When to use it

Use for straight-knee calf hypertrophy with continuous tension when a leg-press calf station is unavailable. Controlled sets of 10-20 reps work well.
