Calf Raise (Cable)

Also called Standing Calf Raise (Cable)

How to do it

Stand on a platform with the balls of your feet on the edge, holding a low cable handle for stability. Rise onto your toes as high as possible, then lower your heels below the platform for a full stretch.

Setup

Set a low cable attachment and stand with the balls of both feet evenly on a stable platform, heels free. Hold the handle so the cable loads you without pulling you off balance, and use a fixed support if necessary.

Where you should feel it

Through both calves with continuous cable tension and a controlled stretch at the bottom. If the cable shifts your weight or the ankles roll, adjust the stance, handle position, or load.

When to use it

Use for standing calf volume with continuous tension and small load adjustments. It is useful when you want external resistance without balancing a bar across your shoulders.
