Seated Calf Raise (Dumbbell)

Also called DB Seated Calf Raise

How to do it

Sit on a bench with the balls of the feet on a block and a dumbbell held upright on each thigh near the knee. Raise the heels by extending the ankles to a full contraction, then lower them slowly below the block for the stretch.

Setup

Sit with knees near 90 degrees and the balls of both feet on a stable block. Place one dumbbell upright on each padded thigh near the knee and hold both bells securely.

Where you should feel it

Deep in both lower calves through the rise and below-platform stretch. Keep each foot tracking evenly and avoid bouncing.

When to use it

Use for accessible bent-knee calf hypertrophy with independent loading over each leg. Controlled sets of 10-20 reps work well.
