Seated Calf Raise (Machine)

Also called Seated Calf Raise (Gym Machine)

How to do it

Sit in the machine with the pads secured above your knees and the balls of both feet on the platform. Lower your heels slowly for a calf stretch, rise as high as possible onto your toes, pause at the top, then descend under control without bouncing.

Setup

Adjust the seat and thigh pad so both knees are near 90 degrees and the pad sits securely above them. Place the balls of both feet evenly on the platform with heels free.

Where you should feel it

Deep in both lower calves along the supported path, with a controlled stretch below the platform and strong contraction at the top. Avoid bouncing.

When to use it

Use for stable, progressively loaded bent-knee calf strength and hypertrophy. It is well suited to controlled sets of 8-20 reps close to fatigue.
