Tibialis Raise (Machine)
Also called Reverse Calf Raise (Machine), Reverse Calf Raises (Machine), Smith Machine Tibialis Raise
How to do it
Stand on a stable platform in a Smith machine with your heels supported and the balls of your feet free, holding the bar securely across your upper back. Lift your toes toward your shins as high as possible, pause, then lower them slowly below the platform edge. Keep your knees soft and use a light load.
Setup
Place a stable platform in the Smith machine, support both heels on its edge with the forefeet free, and set the bar lightly across the upper back. Stand tall with feet parallel, knees soft, hips extended, and torso braced.
Where you should feel it
Along the front of both shins as the toes lift toward the legs, while the core and glutes stabilize the loaded standing position. Keep the heels planted and use a light controlled load.
When to use it
Use for progressively loaded bilateral tibialis anterior strength when a secure Smith-machine setup is available. Favor controlled sets of 12-25 reps rather than heavy loading.
