Cross-Body Raise (Cable)

Also called Cross-Body Cable Raise, Cable Cross-Body Raise

How to do it

Stand beside a low pulley and hold the handle with the hand farthest from the cable, starting low across your body near the opposite hip. Raise the handle diagonally upward and outward to about shoulder height, then lower it under control without rotating your torso. Complete the set and repeat on the other side.

Setup

Set one handle on a low pulley and stand side-on with the working hand farthest from the stack. Start near the opposite hip with a straight wrist, soft elbow, square hips, and braced torso.

Where you should feel it

Across the front and outside of the working shoulder as the arm follows the diagonal path, with the core resisting rotation. Avoid shrugging or twisting.

When to use it

Use for unilateral shoulder hypertrophy through a diagonal path that blends forward and lateral elevation. Controlled sets of 10-20 reps per side work well.
